In 2005, the 2,300 spa locations in Canada generated more than $1-billion in revenue, with the overall industry revenue growing by 30 per cent. In the past decade, the average annual growth rate for the Canadian spa industry has been a steady 17 per cent.

To satisfy the high demand, Elmwood Spa remained open to accommodate spa-goers during renovations, welcoming more than 155,000 new and regular guests since 2004.
